Blogging In Delhi Part 2

Hey people from sunny Delhi. Now it has been a while since I wrote last time in my blog, and it was not even in this blog website, it was in another one. (Rather not mention the name, if in case, I will be kicked out of this one). But I kind of made a promise about making a blog about my days in Delhi as such. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time the last two weeks for several reasons. Firstly (hell knows if that is a word), I have been extremely busy revising for my certifications in Oracle PL/SQL ( that is right, I am gonna be fatter and more speccy before). Secondly, I did not have any internet access in my room for at least a week. Finally, I am a lazy fucker, but I am trying to curb that and actually write a blog.

Well we can easily fast forward the last two weeks, since nothing much really happened, unless you wanna know about what kind of crappy hotel I have been staying in, and what my studying patterns were and the interesting topic (well for me) of SQL. So that is sidetracked completely and I am gonna talk about what happened yesterday. What happened today, will probably written tommorow

Yesterday was offically my last day in the hotel and therefore the last time to see the friends that I have made at the time. So I thought it would be a good idea to go to Delhi's famous touristy area, Connaught Place with the guys, Tariq and Arif. Now Connaught Place looks like any other Westernised city, with a McDonalds here and a Levis shop there. But also in the hubbub of junk food and jeans, were the street sellers and the beggars. Since I heard one of the guys had brought one of these toy versions of an autorickshaw, I thought that would look so cool on my computer. Also the real life ones are freaking everywhere, so it was obviously a great souvenir. If you don't know what they look like, here is a sample picture of it.
But as well as nick nacks and other crap that was being sold on Connaught Place streets, there were some books that was sold as well. Now I went through a quick gander through the selection it has, and one seem to pop up from nowhere like a sore thumb. It was called (brace yourselves people) Mein Kampf by the evil dictator Adolph Hitler. So I don't know about you guys, but that is probably the most notrious books ever published, so it was a god damn shock to see it on sale. Though I was deeply disgusted, I was intrigued and even tempted to purchase a copy, (Please bare in mind, I am not an anti semite), but the sensible side took over me and I did not purchase it. Also I had a feeling I would have declared it in customs and I did not wanted to be on the wanted list of reading banned books, and to be associated with Neo-Nazis, even though I am a Asian.
The next place I went to was Palika Bazaar, which was a underground market, for dodgy DVDs, games, CDs, as well as good or near good electrical goods and clothes and other crap. Now this was place was packed like Pamela Anderson's bra. Tariq and Arif had told me that if we do split up, just go back to the hotel or at least meet at Pizza Hut. Somehow this registered in the head and then popped out again and never found its way back. So I told the guys that I am stopping at this bookstore, (dont worry I did not buy Mein Kampf) and I told them I will see them in the next shop. After five minutes, I could not find them at all anywhere, so I tried looking for them in the exits here there and everywhere. Also I tried looking for them in the Bazaar itself, but it was looking for taste in a Siegfred and Roy show, nigh on impossible. But I was taken in by all the crap that was on sale, so I purchased a wallet, a couple of dodgy PC games, a turtle for my mum and Godfather book.
So I headed back to the hotel, the guys were absolutely pissed off with me, which was understandable. They have been looking for me everywhere, trying to find me on rickshaw and such. I did feel really bad, but they said that they are glad that I made it back home.
So that was yesterday's ordeal, but it was good fun in a way. Today's escapades will be explained tommorow. I know this sounds strange but fuck it that is the way I am gonna do it.
